Striper fishing is good early and in spurts throughout the day.
Artificials are producing the most fish. Slabs, swimbaits, and Topwaters on shallow sandy flats and down ledges as the fish make their late summer time run in different parts of the lake. Glow and chartreuse are our favorite colors but every day is different and it’s good to have a box full of options.
Catfishing is picking up in the heat of the summer.
Baited holes are producing channel cats by the number! And it’s a mix of all sizes on our favorite whisker seekers punch bait. Blues are suspended in deep water chasing shad. Cut gizzard and threadfin shad produce eater blues off the river channels in 30-50 fow.
Crappie are moving slow and scattered on structure.
Electronics are key to numbers but it’s always a good time to try to catch a crappie. Jigs and dead minnows in 12-18 fow on stump flats.
