Striper fishing has remained good on lures, and the live bait bite continues to improve as fall transition starts to try to fight its way in and push the summer heat out.
The early morning bite continues to produce with fish surfacing and larger schools feeding under them. Live bait, slabs and top waters are all producing good numbers in 25-40ft of water on main lake ledges as well as 50-70ft in deeper open water using electronics to find those larger schools.
Catfishing has continued to be productive throughout the day.
Channel cats have been good over baited holes in 18-25ft of water using our favorite Whisker Seeker punch bait producing both numbers and good size. Blues have been consistent on flats and main lake ledges using cut baits such as shad in 20-40ft of water.
Crappie are holding steady on underwater structure as well as under floating structures such as boat docks in the shade.
Live crappie minnows and jigs have both been producing fish in 15-20ft of water.
With the days getting shorter and the forecast showing cooler day and night time temperatures to come the water temps should start to steadily cool and the fall bite will start to really come alive over the coming weeks.
